MYRBETRIQ Dinner at Natalia’s on August 21, 2014 | Brian T. Geary, M.D. | Overactive Bladder

Dr. Brian GearyOur very own Dr. Brian Geary presented on the topic of “Diagnosis and Management of Overactive Bladder” to approximately 45 health care providers and nurses at Natalia’s on August 21, 2014. Overactive bladder is a problem with bladder-storage function that causes a sudden urge to urinate. The urge may be difficult to stop, and overactive bladder may lead to the involuntary loss of urine (incontinence).

An estimated 46 million Americans, 1 in 3 adults age 40 and over, report symptoms of Overactive Bladder at least sometimes. Overactive Bladder affects both men and women, and although more common among older adults, Overactive Bladder affects people of all ages. However, Overactive Bladder is not a normal condition at any age.

The good news is that a brief evaluation can determine whether there’s a cause for your Overactive Bladder symptoms. Available treatments may greatly reduce or eliminate the symptoms and help you manage their effect on your daily life.
